But what I am saying is, Hall has proven way more on the field. Dart was going up against BYU's depleted defense. HE should have had a great game. He wasn't great against Cal. He is still 0-3 as a starter.
Highly rated recruits are great and all. And I want as many as we can get. But BYU's two highest rated QB recruits...one of them the number one QB in the nation, did virtually nothing in college football. Recruiting rankings only matter until you get on the field. And right now, based solely on the on field performance, it would be absolutely stupid to bench Hall, regardless of how great Dart looks in practice.
Look no further than Utah...the guy who won the practice competition couldn't get it done on the field, and they went with Rising. Hall has been great as BYUs QB1, one silly loss to BSU where fumbles killed him (outside of those three fumbles BYU wins) but he did something no other BYU QB has done..beat 6 P5 teams in a year. You don't bench him for the practice all star.
