I don't think anyone would argue the Utah basketball program is in good shape or has made good decisions, but overall Utah has managed to generally break even despite that (granted that's accomplished using state and student subsidies to the AD, but honestly about the same amount that BYU allocates from tuition payments to go to the Athletic Department).
So far as I can tell, the big differences in this year were primarily COVID (obviously an issue), but since he asked about Krystkowiak, I figured that probably played some small role in the numbers being worse than normal
