Not sure if that would be good or bad for Taysom.
On the one hand, Sean Payton has been the biggest (and at times only) supporter of Taysom as an NFL QB, so he'd lose his biggest advocate.
But the Saints are also $75M over the cap for next year already, without resigning guys like Marcus Williams and Terron Armstead and potentially Jameis Winston. Taysom has the advantage of already being there. With Payton the Saints might use more cap finagling and be able to get a QB like Russell Wilson, but without Payton they might just bite the bullet and be bad to get out of their salary cap situation. Cut Thomas, don't resign your star safety or LT, go with the cheap QB you already have instead of signing someone new and try to turn the page to a new era in another season or so
