The argument still works here because as has been pointed out many times

Tuiaki's scheme works well against weaker teams. It just doesn't work well against equal or better teams which would be fine if we were joining the MWC or Sun Belt conference. Doesn't work so well going into the Big 12. His scheme is not a one size fits all type of deal.
