They could be a 0.500 team in conference. That's not a pessimistic prediction.
The thing is, 0.500 in the Big XII gets you into the NCAA tournament. And it gets you fun games against really good teams. Including some wins against really good teams. It might hurt attendance, but I don't think it will hurt it that much. We're getting 15,000+ for games like the one against Portland in a season where our hopes and expectations went way down and we haven't been ranked in the top 25 after Harward and Baxter weren't able to play anymore.
I think many BYU fans will understand the upgrade in competition from top to bottom and realize we're going to lose more without having that detract from fan intensity.
