He’s shooting not to miss rather than to make his shot. Mental block
Hesitancy creates hitch or stiffness and good shooters need to shoot in rhythm. He lost his mojo. I think he is too stiff and overweight. Not flabby but built like Toolson used to be when Toolson was very average. When Toolson lost 15 lbs and was still leaner but muscular his game emerged and his shot and bounce and tenacious drives to the bucket all came back to him. Lohner’s teammates at Wasatch said he got too bulky and lost his form on his shot. They think he lifted too much and put on too much weight and it has made him very slow and mechanical rather than fluid and smooth like he used to be in HS. He needs to transform his body back to a leaner more agility type build while still maintaining his strength. Weight alone doesn’t make you stronger but can slow you down on the court and cause problems like it did for Toolson.
