I never 'saw' Mantle or Mays play, which is why I went with Griffey. Also
I don't think Griffey is 'as good as' Trout, but he's one of the closest that can come to mind in my short lifetime.

Trout isn't the best defensive outfielder on his own team, but is the best center fielder since at least Mickey Mantle.
