If you were the oldest grandchild, and having the first great grandchild, would you tell your grandparents directly or
just assume they'll eventually find out....somehow? I'm disappointed in my niece. She's 28 and announced on Facebook today that she's pregnant. I am excited for her, but then this evening when I called my parents to see how they felt about finally becoming great grandparents they were like, "What? We are?" They didn't know. My niece didn't bother to tell them (though she managed to tell others personally before the Facebook post, some even days or weeks ago), and I was surprised that my brother hadn't spoken with them yet either. Just feeling bad for my parents right now, as they're probably feeling pretty forgotten and uncared for. They're not bitter or anything, but speaking with them I could absolutely hear the pain in their voices they were trying to conceal.
