IMHO it's better to build than buy right now. Yes, it will take a longer time to
get it done...in Utah I'm being told 8-12 months if you're using a well established large-scale developer (as opposed to doing it on your own, like a one off custom home). But better to pay 150-200k more for a brand new house than to buy some of the overpriced crap older homes out there.
