Sounds like you don't know how revenue share works.
Home team keeps the tickets sales $$$ minus maybe a small travel amount. So Tennessee makes basically nothing travelling to Provo and already made their $$$ when BYU went there. And they get no TV $$$.
Now they are the home team in a neutral field games where they revenue share tickets sales and can negotiate $$$ on TV.
So yeah, that's why. Plus they didn't want to travel to Provo and lose.
