My parents left my brother and I home for about 5 days while I was a 17 year old
senior and he was an 8th grader.
We went and spent most of our grocery money on the first day loading up on Mountain Dew and Rainbow Chip frosting.
We used our last few bucks for a few hamburgers. Fortunately, some members of our ward went to eat at the same place and we explained the situation. They never told our parents (to my knowledge) and we ate at their house the next 3 days.
