Players getting paid is not the real heart of the problem.
It was equally unsustainable to have college sports turn into a billion dollar enterprise without modifying the portion of the pie going to the athletes.
The core issue is disparity. All of our major pro sports have strict controls in place to promote parity and balance. College football has almost zero now, and nobody seems prepared to step in and offer any.
