You will be more annoyed by knowing you left $5k on the table than you would be happy by having that $5k. Know your worth, set your personal pricing and be done with it.
That puts the onus on you to maximize your value by knowing what market rates are, but you will be better off and happier by separating your range from what the company thinks it should pay you. Then anybody who overlaps is somebody you will find a good fit with.
