Kerr is the best coach I've ever seen at getting NBA players to buy into their
roles.

Just a few examples:

-He convinced Andre Iguadala, the biggest free agent signing in franchise history at the time, to accept coming of the bench while still in his relative prime

-He convinced Steph Curry to cede point guard duties and primary playmaking responsibilities to Draymond Green, and then to spend most of his time in the offense running around off ball.

-He benched David Lee and brought him in sparingly off the bench without any public complaints

-Convinced Andrew Bogut to enthusiastically accept sitting on the bench the last six minutes of every game.

-Convinced Andrew Wiggins, a chucker on offense who notoriously never tried on defense, to focus almost all his energy on defense and become a role player on offense.

-Shaped Jordan Poole, one of the worst chuckers I've ever seen in college and as a rookie, to become the most efficient shooting guard in the NBA playoffs.

-Convinced Stephen Curry, the greatest player in franchise history (even above Wilt), to come off the bench and play back up to a 23 year old who will likely replace him someday for the first two playoff series in order have better in game rotations

Honestly, I can't think of anyone that compares to Kerr in this regard. Curry also deserves some credit for being such a selfless super star and fulling buying in to Kerr's system, but Kerr deserves so much credit. The system they have created and the ability of the franchise to get guys to sacrifice for the team is unprecedented in any pro sport (IMO).
