Ahead of every other 1-loss school outside the SEC. Think about the implications of that.
Utah is a lower tier school talent wise and lost to a blue blood Oregon with the top draft pick QB.
Two years later, Oregon was all set for the playoffs until Utah intervened.
The other conferences never have that. It’s always Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson, Oklahoma and no one challenging them.
Michigan one once in the last six years.
Those conferences don’t have an upstart second tier like Utah. And the Pac12 doesn’t have a clear-cut elite program outside USC.
So there’s more parity.
But eventually, upstart Utah is getting elevated brand prestige and USC is starting to get elite talent.
So the Pac 12 is starting to look like a normal conference at the too.
You’ll likely have two teams starting off in the top 7. And now both are capable of playing each other in the CCG.
That’s a recipe for a two loss team to get in.
