Notre Dame would say that USC and Michigan are their biggest rivals, along with a number of other B1G teams to a lesser degree (like Purdue and Michigan State). There is also some lingering bad blood with a few other schools, especially Miami and FSU. The B1G rivalries are mostly due to geography, recruiting competition, and a long history of playing against each other. These schools would all list Notre Dame as a secondary rival, at best.
