I'm sure they'd RATHER beat BYU. In the same way that BYU would probably rather beat Alabama than Utah (and vice versa, Utah would rather beat Alabama as well I'd guess), just because it means more to beat a better team. But that doesn't make Alabama the rival of both BYU and Utah.
