and on the days that line runs, for almost a full day after, after the water shuts off water slowly leaks out of the top of the head.

I replaced the head last week to see if that’s the problem, but it’s still doing it. The problem is it’s in dirt and it create a mud puddle there where it leaks out. It’s almost as if all the excess water sitting in the line after shutoff is all leaking out at that one sprinkler.

Is there a way to remedy this?
