I don't think Tolkien was going for nuance. He wanted clear delineation between
good and evil. Aragon is a Romantic hero. I'm a big fan of many of the anti-hero TV shows and movies since 9/11. But I appreciate stories with no such ambiguity. It would be a shame if the writers attempted to inject 2022 moral ambiguity into a world with stark moral clarity.
