1- get a good digital thermometer that you can leave in the meat while you are
Smoking. Takes the guess work out and makes the food delish.

I have this one and love it

2- if your pellet basket has the metal mesh wire “shelf thingy” in it (not sure if they still come this way) take it out. It ends up getting the pellets bunched up and drove me crazy. Just unscrew it and take it out. You don’t want it.

3- everyone wants to do brisket and ribs….and for good reason…..but maybe start with tri tip or chicken or even a pork loin. Much faster cooks and delicious.

4- make sure to use the “shut down” procedure that lasts like 8 minutes to turn off the smoker each time.

5- get in a good habit of using a shop vac to vacuum out the grill/fire pot after like 15-20 hours of smoke time to keep it clean and operating well.

6- enjoy!
