costco return input
I'm trying not to be "that guy", but I might be that guy.

Two+ years ago we bought a Lovesac sectional through one of the costco roadshow things. It was one of the few sofas that we could configure to fit our space and it checked all the boxes.

Sitting in the sofa at the store, it was comfortable. Lovesac has 3 options for cushions - however, costco only sold the cheapest of the 3. I was fine with that as long as they were comfortable.

When we got the couch, it was not comfortable. Not even a little. I called the sales guy that sold it to me and asked about it. He assured me it was normal and they'd break in over time to get to where the one was at the store.

Fast forward to today. That couch isn't any more comfortable than it was on the day we unpacked it. So bad, in fact, that we don't use our huge theater room for watching movies. We watch them on a smaller TV in another room. Nobody wants to use that couch.

That Sactional, as they call it, was pretty expensive - like $7k for that setup. However, we've decided it needs to go. We need to reclaim the theater room.

So. Am i ok to return that thing? I know they'd take it back, but I'd kind of feel like a jerk, but the guy said it would get softer, and it never has. We've waited so long hoping it would break it. It hasn't.

Or.

Eat that decision, take the huge loss, sell that sucker, and buy something else?

I've bounced back and forth.
