I grabbed a window seat, put my bag in the middle seat (saving it for my wife who was boarding behind me). A really big dude sits in the aisle seat and when my wife boards and see the large dude seating in aisle seat, she stops looks at me and with your eyes, says “nope” and keeps on walking past our seats to find a more “comfortable” seat. The large dude looks at me and says “I’m sorry”, I told him it is all good, he was clearly embarrassed, but my wife would have been sitting on my lap if she would have sat between us, he took about 50% of her seat.
