I agree.. though they did make those widespread cuts a couple years back
which was surprising to me (if I remember right they didn't go through with all of them).
But I agree, even though football/fan support is abysmal the sporting culture at Stanford is still huge (can't remember but there is some crazy % percent (?30%) that are student-athletes with a crazy high percent (?>90%) of students who played HS varsity sports)
