BYU brings at least 60% of market share in the State of Utah plus a decent share

from other mountain and west coast states. Unfortunately for Ute fans, I don't think "social factors" are going to matter this time. It is all about markets and tv sets - the PAC-12 model is what got the PAC to where they are today. You reap what you sow.
