Maybe. More likely than not, but not MUCH more likely than not.
IF the B1G brings in 2 Pac schools, Stanford is one of them. B1G is the only one of the P2 that gives two hoots about academics, AND they're giving ND every reason to say yes. If not now, eventually.

So in the annoying scenario you allude to: the B1G taking UW and Stanford, before the Big12 does anything, the Big12 would do very well to take Oregon and AZ State, call it a day, and the Pac dies. Who knows if they'd choose to take 2 additional though, and it IS a decent bet Utah would be one of them if they did.

If the B1G takes nobody (and the powers that be somehow know that before the Big12 does any other inviting), well that makes things REAL easy. In that case, I sure as yewt HOPE the Big12 would invite UW and UO and who bloody CARES what the other 8 do even if they are technically still the Pac! And even if the Big12 WAS itching to deal a true death blow, maybe at that point Stanford comes along, and AZSt.

The troubling scenario, because I don't want 6 Pac schools in the Big12 (and mostly because that'd near guarantee Utah would be one of them), is that the Big12 doesn't want to wait for ND or the B1G (because it gives UW and UO time to convince themselves of the ridiculous notion that they could actually anchor a So-Cal-less Pac by inviting MWC teams), takes the four 4-corners schools, THEN finds out UO and UW are available, and the Big12 is stuck with two 4-corner schools WE DON'T WANT!
