Lawsuits galore against ESPN and the Big 12 if they collude to destroy a
conference. Remaining PAC 12 teams that didn’t get picked up by the Big 12 would have their lawyers on the phone within minutes.
Would probably be fairly easy to prove since the Big 12 is on record multiple times saying they plan to hold TX and OU to their full contract commitment until it ends in 2025.
Maybe some smart lawyers could work it out without opening themselves up to collusion allegations (not sure if that’s the right legal word; maybe tortuous interference?). But it would be risky. I agree though; that’s a BIG negotiating chip they have.
