Good luck man-it sometimes seems that everyone loves their job. But you're not
alone. Like you, I'm trapped in a career and job that I have zero passion for. It's hard to change because pay is pretty decent, but late nights at the office occur too frequently and some days I look in the mirror wondering if it's worth it, but I've learned to compartmentalize better and think about the long game.

Not for everyone, but seven years ago I had a Come to Jesus moment and decided to stay in my career with the goal of "retiring" earlier. If the math keeps working, I'll be 49. I have six years left. That's one thing that keeps me going to work on those hard days. I'll probably do something else after, but at that point, I'll be able to step back and live independently of a full time job. Of course, my wife and I are naturally pretty frugal so it works, and I love personal finance. Definitely not for everyone.

Keep at it and always be looking for other options.
