Not about if undefeated. Of course that’ll get you an NC. About when a few teams are all 10-2 or 9-3. Who gets
the better bowl game? It’s always been the method to prop up the right conferences & right teams. If some highly ranked team loses to another highly ranked team, it’s all excused & they stay highly ranked.
There always seems to be at least one team from each P5. That’s why Ore was over ranked at beginning of yr last yr & why Utah is over ranked this year. They’re the chosen PAC reps to start the season no matter how weak the Conf is.
