Of course the improvements at LES the last few years have been relatively cheap and they are things that hopefully drive
more ticket sales right now. I could see plans for something new while still making inexpensive upgrades now.
Of course, I can also see the probability that there’s a snowballs chance in purgatory that they are considering a new stadium as well.

Would it be cheaper to build an entirely new stadium...or fix the current?

Parking lot to the east?

Even the west parking lot is a little small

Cost is way too much. Would we really want to build a huge stadium when

We’ve never played at the top level previously and a big stadium is great but if we build one someday it should be where

Adding those extra seats increases the cost a lot more - because then you have to build higher up

We don't know how long this 'top level' will last. I'd hate for BYU to end up in

Stadium is fine IMO. Just replace the bleachers with chair seats.

So leave that for the student section but not elsewhere

Not enough room there to build it unless the street goes underground

Good question but we need to ask the engineers. It's not modern or iconic, just

Why not just fill in the corners? That should be easy enough.

I thought we already did that. All the best stadiums have SRO. Just pack 'em in! If you can see a video board, you're

They obviously think fixing the current is better with the new additions.

It’s probably all they could get approved

That improvement pretty much says no new stadium for 20 years.

Really? That’s interesting. How do you know that, and why do you think that is?

Building dept was one of my big customers. The AD has to pay for their own

If byu goes about it like the pool fiasco...They wanted to not spend the 25m

Here's a nice list of recent college football stadiums renovations and new builds and their costs.

Yeah, I'd imagine it would cost near $400M for a 50k stadium in line with what Baylor or Minnesota have

They’d have to shut down university avenue for a tunnel right? Seems tough
ColonelMustard

There doesn’t have to be a tunnel. It could be a sky bridge.

False. I’m a structural engineer and there are many ways to address that issue.

New stadium would be nice, on Provo High. But probably cost $600M for similar to Baylor, but with 70k seats.

If they built a new stadium, I don't imagine it would be much over 50k capacity

I'm fine with thee stadium we have.

After all the recent upgrades it won’t happen anytime soon. So why even worry

Money needs to go to NIL. Stadium is good.

8/11/22 4:56pm
Well if CB ever has a billionaire, we will let that person pay for a new stadium

Sure. It may take a trillionaire to have enough disposable money to be better.

It’s about priorities. The stadium is fine. Slowly upgrading, as they are doing

You have to admit a new, modern stadium with upgraded amenities would certainly drive more attendance right?

Probably not. Nationwide trends, regardless of how nice the stadium is,

I think $300 M could find nil for 25 years and create lots and lots of wins.
