Its been helpful many times. Most notably when a new hire from a for profit comes in and tries to shake up a bunch of things they see are not driving revenue. There are some things we do that will always result in a loss but generates a lot of value for the consumer we serve. Its budgeted and part of our mission statement. Ive had to cite the mission statement on several occasions to justify my actions/objections to these people.
