So Jay Kay brings up an interesting thought
With Amazon and ESPN money in addition to the escalator clause, there could be money to fund four more schools making 8 new additions in total. Does the B1G go that far? I’m not sure but there might come an opportunity to get ACC schools sooner than expected. It is probably not likely but it helps to be positioned to jump on a rare opportunity should it arise.

Given the ACC schools are getting $17M per year on the TV deal, could there be a time in 5-6 years when it’s best for the schools to blow up the GORs and dissolve the league because there would be more money in the landing spot whether its B1G, SEC, or Big 12? Let’s say the Big 12 gets $35M in TV revenue. That’s twice as much as the ACC. If I am WF, Syracuse, BC, or Duke, I might be OK with blowing it up if I get assurances of a better landing spot. Heck, with inflation, the AAC deal could be better than the ACC deal in 7 years. I realize it’s more complicated than that and there are a host of other issues, but if somehow they miraculously get ESPN’s blessing it could happen.
