will improve. This is no defense for any poor coaching decisions. But you can’t expect to have P5 depth immediately because you got into the Big 12 last year. Recruits aren’t stupid. Every coach, scout, and recruiter without P5 access will be greatly disadvantaged in getting enough top talent to have little to no drop off through their second string. Why? The top talent are more likely to go where there is P5 access and most of the time no matter what sell-job you give for something other than P5, it simply won’t be enough. We just got P5 access and are doing well with NIL, so it is likely recruiting and depth will improve.
Just allow a moment for that to happen before we restart the annual coaching search talk after every loss, as if the majority of respectable programs don’t ever have a bad game.
