I’m surprised there’s any debate on this. Recognizing how great Jaren has done against uniquely hard schedules doesn’t dim what Zack did. He killed it in 2020. But objectively 2020 was probably the easiest schedule BYU’s had in last 20+ years. 2021/2022 are among the hardest schedules ever for BYU. By the time he’s done Jaren will have played a harder schedule in his career than any other BYU QB. Easily.

2020 had the likes of North Alabama, Troy, Texas State, Western Kentucky, UTSA. With exception of up and coming UTSA those programs at the bottom of FBS. Navy, Houston and SDSU were all down that year and didn’t have winning records. Boise State and UCF were legit quality wins. Zack ripped them all up.

Compare that to 2021 though. 7 power five games, including against pac 12 champion and Big 12 champion. Plus Boise State and a rare top 25 USU team. 2022 has five power 5 games plus Boise State. What Jaren is doing is impressive and unique for BYU against such tough schedules.
