straw man much?
Yes, LES has a long-standing tradition of being a family-friendly environment. If you're familiar with the school and its culture, make an effort to uphold the in-stadium environment for the enjoyment of everyone. Fair enough. In my decades-long experience, the overwhelming majority of fans--visitors and regulars--do so. Talk to a visiting fan from SEC, Big-12 country etc. if you're worried about the uniqueness of our stadium environment having been eroded.

That said, few, if any want to "kill the golden goose" (to use your flawed metaphor). They simply may not get as wrapped around the axle re: occasional or mild profanity at a sporting event, even at BYU.

Skipping past some of the other silliness, I find the whole "we'll be just like everyone else thing" ironic, to say the least.
It displays a rather astounding lack of confidence in the faith and culture to which you appear to prefer tight adherence. Without a strict code, armed to the hilt with punishments, and apparently, a communal ban on profanity, our church school will become just like everyone else? Attended and staffed overwhelming by church members, who typically work their tails off to get to BYU and have the BYU experience, would essentially become Arizona State. And all for the sake for recruiting. Really? It makes me wonder if 1) you ever attended BYU or 2) you've ever been anywhere else.

Joseph Smith preferred the man who deals justly with his neighbor and swears a streak as long as his arm to the smooth-faced hypocrite...I agree with him here, and not because I encourage swearing in streaks at LES. I do think some among us put entirely disproportionate amounts of emphasis on few specific behaviors and may lack sufficient coping mechanisms when others fail to line up in agreement.
