I forgot that it is likely cool season grass, so this is better advice. Warm season grasses will just grow back and
fill in nicely after the issue is addressed. Trying to re-seed or re-sod warm season grasses is always dicey because the cultivars will rarely match.

Cool season grasses are much better positioned to re-seed/re-sod. And they won't fill in like warm season grasses.
