Intermountain has recognized the critical need to shift to value based care for quite a while now - several years ago they restructured the organization to place more focus on keeping people well and out of hospitals (community based care), rather than focusing solely on treating people who were already sick or needing care (specialty based care).

Many other initiatives have also been prioritized to aid in the shift to value based care (Castell, retooling primary care, etc.). The rebrand is certainly a way to continue signaling the importance and need to shift to value based care.
