Schultz is back All-American
Before the season started there were justifiably HUGE expectations.
We came in with one of the most experienced teams in the nation and coming off 2 back to back top 25 seasons. We had a new 5 star OL and two returning pre-season All American OL. We had a couple stud grad transfer RBs, and several returning stud WR. And we had Hall back at QB. We hoped the defense would be healthy (and stay that way at least for the tough games) because the excuse last year for a bad defense was lots of injuries to some of our best players.

What everyone is so upset about is the lack of discipline and the same lame excuses for poor performance. Why was Kalani surprised that USU ran the ball so much? Why do we have so many bone-headed penalties? Why does the team come out flat? Our coaches are ill-prepared for games and wait until half-time to make any kind of meaningful adjustments. And they deserve credit for those half time adjustments because they are working very well this year. But it shouldn't take that long to make some of the adjustments! ARod had some calls that were so bad it looked like he was instructed to sabotage our final drive so that we didn't score again. The only reason I think that's not the case is because it was that bad for most of the first half.

I've said it multiple times: the biggest problem with this team is the same problem Kalani had in his first few years: lack of discipline. Grimes came in and established a culture of discipline. We're starting to see it go away now. It will only get worse, not better unless he can get someone like Grimes back on staff to help with this issue.
