And the play calling is 100% the DC, who tends to lean more conservative than aggressive in his tendencies. Which also fits with the scheme.  I think when Lamb was an HC at SUU, his D was more aggressive than this BYU one.

And blaming Lamb for missed kicks by Oldroyd isn't really a thing to me. I don't credit him for made ones either.  Kickers are their own weird thing.  STs has been mostly ok, minus the USF return, which cost nothing, and Oldroyd's misses which really aren't on Lamb at all.
