I think there’s an argument that he is, fans would be pissed if he traded Curry
Curry would be pissed and you could have very well alienated your greatest player in franchise history. Fans and sponsors get pissed and players do too when you don’t return the loyalty a guy like Curry showed you.
Sure people might forgive if Wemby is an all time great and leads you to titles, but he’s still a bit of an unknown. What if he tears his acl in year 1 and is never the same. Shows flashes but can never stay healthy? That’s a risk you absolutely can’t take if you’re trading the best player in franchise history who is still at a near mvp level.
