the creativity we keep all of the good results. Of course we want to get rid of the bad results (such as turnovers), but I can get behind Pope's vision for now to let them be less structured on offense in the hopes that they have a quick learning curve and develop over the season.
Pope as he said is trying to learn from a sour experience last year where he tightly controlled the offensive structure and shooting plan. Last year had far too many possessions of passing around that is not leading to any advantage and then being under pressure as the shot clock winds down. There were a lot of shot clock violations, late-possession turnovers, and late-possession hucked ugly shots last season.
Watching the first two games along with Pope's explanation that he is trying to micromanage the offense less this year, I respect that approach in the hopes that it eventually leads to a more powerful offense late in the season. Pope is aiming for the fences and to improve the team with an eye towards peaking at the end of the season instead of trying to micromanage success that will give short term results of fewer turnovers but with a low ceiling for the season.
