That is absolutely not true. Everyone thought he had the potential to be, especially after starting 4-0 his jr. (?) year
His injuries and completion %, over time, turned many people off.
But his sheer athleticism alone was going to give him a shot somewhere. He took that shot and has absolutely made the most of it.
