Not the issue they're probably going to replace it.
Ford/GM cost engineered the 10r80 (to make the 10r60) for lighter duty applications and made some mistakes- the jerky shifting is poor engagement and probably sending debris through the valve body. I would push your dealer for a replacement. The TCM/PCM update would have bandaided the issue before the jerky shifting would have happened.
