Honestly, I can understand why USU would prefer to hire the most-qualified outside guy — & make sure he has plenty of insiders on his staff. And this regardless of race or religion. (Honestly, I'd consider an LDS Polynesian guy from a P5 staff from, say, California — I'd certainly consider him an outsider for USU if he were originally from the west coast.)

In all honesty, I WISH this were a route BYU would think of going, too. That is, hire a highly-qualified outsider as HC & surround him with plenty of insiders. But of course they won't.
