In not questioning your choice but I don't understand the "have to have a dog

mentality". And i love dogs. But if my family was allergic, easy decision.

So the argument isn't "Stay away from doodles", but "make sure you do your research if you're getting a doodle"

Generally yes (but not always guaranteed). There's steps you can take to maximize likelihood though
