During our top 10 run in 2001, he was very dismissive of our ranking. As a
conference mate, it was very surprising and disappointing.
I was living in Albuquerque at the time. In 2000 when we scheduled UNM for our last home game, he fumed that we did it because we thought the Lobos would be an easy win for Lavell’s last game in Provo.
Rocky is extremely easily offended and holds grudges for a long time. He detested AFA’s Fisher DeBerry for a similar perceived slight.
Don’t get me wrong, the guy would bring an attitude and aggression to our defense; I just don’t think he’d ever willingly set foot in Provo. I would love to be wrong.
