the old argument about the value of the regular season is a joke. You can't have true competition unless you get rid of
all conferences and have computer programmed schedules, forcing teams to play away, past the mississippi, in cold weather, in heat and humidity, at altitude, early in the day, late at night.
The level of competition has to be spread evenly. Get the Georgia's and Alabama's and Ohio States traveling to places like Provo, Seattle, Tuscon, etc. When is that last time Alabama played WEST of the Mississippi?
Nope, got to level the playing field, make the top ranked teams play tougher schedules to EARN their way in. Not 3-4 tough games and then the fluff of their FCS or conference pansies.
