While I'm glad it wasn't me, the severance package might make some laid-off
employees happy.

I have no plans to leave any time soon, so I'm glad it wasn't me.

That being said, severance is 60 days plus 16 weeks plus 2 weeks for each additional year worked* plus paid-out PTO. I would have gotten nearly a year of pay.

(* I think this means someone who worked 0 to 8 years would get 16 weeks, and then 2 weeks for each additional year past 8 years, rather than 16 plus 2*years worked)
