the 500 year old Yavapai Apache Tizon Wiped pot (1 of 5 ever found intact) I found in a Wilderness Area in Central AZ while looking for a geocache is sitting in a closet in a storage room of the Prescott NF office in the Ft. Whipple complex because the Verde Branch and the Prescott branch of the tribe couldn't agree on a display location. It was suggested that it may go in a display at the Verde Branch's Cliff Castle Casino lobby. But...
As a result I regret the decision I made to leave it in place and alert a professor at NAU regarding it's location. 15 years later I should have kept it and used it to decorate my office. At least someone would have enjoyed it. Not sitting in a Federal Artifact storage room to gather dust.
UofA, NAU, ASU each have one & the Sharlot Hall Museum in Prescott has one on display. I have a nice display photograph on my wall in my office but I feel now I shouldn't have done the right thing back then.
