I have kids who didn’t get a diploma but went to college and did great. I think people need evidence of finishing what they started and non diploma earners have a hard time showing that,

I’m an employer and look for signs of “finishing” and would not hire your son unless there were some pretty strong signs that he would power through the boring times.
