Thad Balkman was in our ward while I was in school and ran successfully to be a District Judge. I got respected local counsel and a pro hac we were able to help explain the situation and I think his experience as an LDS missionary was very helpful in a community that has a basic mistrust of LDS people. But he did put them through the legal work to obtain the dismissal which was pricey, so it wasn’t like a phone call. We had to prove the woman was paranoid schizophrenic and misinterpreted situations
